Here’s what’s new …
Titan is constantly seeking out new and culturally exciting destinations for its tours. In 2017 Ethiopia makes its debut with an extraordinary holiday featuring ancient wonders from the iconic rock churches of Lalibela to ‘Lucy’, the three million-year-old remains of man’s first ‘walking’ ancestor. Further treasures on the 13-day ‘Scenic and Cultural Treasures of Ethiopia’ tour include the breath-taking Simien Mountains, with their resident ‘bleeding heart monkeys’, the dramatic beauty of the Blue Nile Falls, the ancient obelisk of Axum and the dramatic fortress of Gondar.
Departing on selected dates between February and October 2017, prices start from £2,949, save up to £250pp and a dedicated solo travellers departure on 11 May.
Winter in Russia takes on its own unique atmosphere and this rare treat is explored on a new 7-day ‘Winter Palaces of Russia - The snowy splendour of Moscow & St Petersburg’. In the year that marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution this two-centre holiday combines the best of Moscow and St Petersburg and opens up an imperial treasure-trove. With departures in January and February 2017 it allows participants to truly experience the country’s winter beauty. Red Square, the Kremlin and colourful St Basil’s Cathedral, are cosmopolitan Moscow’s unmissable sights and, after travelling by high-speed Sapsan train to St Petersburg, the tour will include a visit to the renowned Hermitage Museum and a ride in a traditional Russian troika through the grounds of the Baroque Catherine Palace. The 7-day tour costs from £1,249 per person, saving up to £100 per person.
The railways of Switzerland are as iconic as their cuckoo clocks and there is no better way to enjoy the country’s alpine splendour than from the comfort of a train carriage. This magical new 9-day Grand Tour of Switzerland tour includes journeys on the William Tell Express and Centovalli routes, along with Europe’s highest cogwheel railway and a mountaintop funicular with spectacular panoramas of snow-capped peaks, ancient bridges, flower bedecked meadows and sparkling lakes. As the rail tracks twist and climb through spectacular mountain passes the tour will spend two nights in Lucerne, Locarno and Montreux, three beautiful towns located on the banks of Lake Lucerne, Lake Maggiore and Lake Geneva respectively, plus two nights in Zermatt, set high in the Alps at the foot of the monumental Matterhorn. The holiday costs from £2,299 per person, saving up to £100 per person
With another series of the popular TV programme The Durrells set to hit our screen next spring the island of Corfu is introduced for the first time in an 8-day Ionian Island Paradise tour. This relaxing week long holiday is based at the renowned beachside MarBella Corfu Resort with included excursions to Corfu Town and the characterful fishing village of Paleokastritsa, on Corfu’s spectacular coastline, and the Imperial palace of Achilleion, decorated by Elisabeth, Empress of Austria. There’s the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Odysseus and to enjoy an optional day trip to Albania to walk among Roman ruins in Butrint.
